The Hempel Foundation Seeks a Student Assistant with Interest in Global Education

The Hempel Foundation is seeking a motivated student assistant to join our International Team and support our global education portfolio.

The Hempel Foundation is the owner of the Hempel Group – a world-leading supplier of paint and coatings – and a committed philanthropist within the fields of education and sustaining biodiversity, among others.

The Hempel Foundation’s philanthropic work aims to contribute to sustainable impact on some of the biggest and most urgent global challenges facing us today. The Foundation works strategically to empower children living in poverty to learn as well as to sustain some of the planet’s most important and valuable nature.

Out of the Foundation's total annual distribution of DKK 200 million, about DKK 60 million is allocated to global education programmes.

Guided by the principles of Sustainable Development Goal 4, our education partnerships focus on tackling the global learning crisis and driving systemic change in education in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, while also supporting global advocacy efforts for foundational learning.

Your Role

As a student assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the global education team. Your tasks will include:

  • Assisting with partnership management processes by tracking key milestones, deliverables, and reporting deadlines as well as ensuring proper documentation of partnerships
  • Supporting data collection and analysis related to the Foundation’s programmatic work within education
  • Conducting research and analytical tasks related to the global education agenda
  • Supporting the planning and logistics of international events.
  • Assisting with creating presentations and materials for board meetings, partner engagements and field visits
  • Supporting the planning and organisation of delegation visits to countries where the Hempel Foundation has engagements, including programme overviews, context briefings and logistical support.

What We’re Looking For

  • You are pursuing a relevant higher education degree and have at least two years remaining of your studies.
  • You are passionate about the Sustainable Development Goals and have knowledge of international development agendas.
  • You might have experience from working in an international environment as an intern, student assistant or other junior role.
  • You might have experience with presenting complex data and information in a clear and concise manner tailored to specific audiences.
  • You might be skilled in creating graphical representations of data, such as charts, dashboards or infographics.
  • You have excellent communication skills in English, Danish, and possibly French, are considered valuable assets
  • You are thorough, well-organised, and collaborative, even when managing multiple priorities.


About Us

Our secretariat consists of 22 dedicated employees, including two student assistants and an office assistant. The global education portfolio comprises two senior professionals responsible for the Foundation’s Education Strategy and education partnerships. You’ll also have opportunities to gain insight into the work of other team members of the International Team and across the secretariat
